Dr Jon Elliman, Associate
Postgraduate Dean GP Education (Swindon)
I have responsibility for overseeing the
Swindon/Cirencester GP vocational training scheme,
and the training practices within that patch. I was
the programme organizer for the scheme for several
years and have seen many exciting changes over that
time. I am a partner and trainer in a Swindon
practice, and did my vocational training many years
ago on this scheme. I feel fortunate to work with
such a great group of colleagues, and enjoy meeting
all the GPSTs from whom I learn so much. I also look
after Swindon Town football club.

Dr Mary Valentine GP Educator
responsible for ST3 Half Day Release course and ST1
or 2 Small Groups Teaching
I am a GP partner and trainer in Wootton Bassett,
and have enjoyed teaching and training in various
guises over many years. I am also a GP tutor
involved in training new GP trainers. I have been a
GP appraiser, so have been exposed to many different
ways that we as GPs work!
I worked for many years as a Hospital Practitioner
in General Medicine and Endocrinology at GWH.
The Swindon area is a great place to work, with good
supportive and approachable consultant colleagues.
My life outside medicine... I have travelled a lot
to some wonderful places, I'm a late convert to
skiing, I sail (preferably in warm places!), play
tennis regularly and enjoy new experiences!
